Asian Markets!

The hotel front desk staff gave me two recommendations for asian grocery stores in town. The first was listed on google etc, the other I had not heard of. I went to Asian Market of Florence first, they have a lot of choices, the place is packed with all types of food (including Indian and southeast Asian). A little piled up and jumbled in places but serviceable. The sun again was not optimal for this shot.

My second stop was Chinatown Market. The guy here was very friendly, the place is smaller and less stocked than the other, but very orderly and tidy. He carries fresh seafood too, the little crabs looked tasty.

Not too shabby, but I'm not even going to try and make some statement like the "best outside Japan" wacko post we saw regarding that SLC market.

Veterans Park

The Florence Veterans Park (and Civic Center) is right next to where I'm staying. A nice little spot for a stroll. Lots of commemorations, plaques, etc., and this statue. The sun was not optimal for a front view shot.

Adjacent to the park was this intriguing path, looks like it may be part of a network of urban trail connectors.

This is my first attempt to use Blogsy on the iPad.

 

Blogger App vs. Desktop Browser

Same picture as the previous post, pulled from Picasa, but authored from the iMac. The photo looks fine on my phone, but uploaded to Picasa in this state. The official blogger app for android is quite limited, but I suppose it'll work in a pinch. Not sure blogging will happen much while I'm working far away. Will continue to investigate iPad and droid options (without paying for an app).
