I didn't hear about this earthquake, but this morning, I thought I heard there was an earthquake in the Bay Area. I am still seeing adverts for helping Haiti, but hardly a word about Chile. I should probably do a little research, I'm not sure if one was much worse than the other or what, but it does seem like information / coverage is very uneven.
A couple days ago I read about the impact of a tsunami hitting the WA coast. Apparently large sections of both the Makah and Quileute tribal lands have significant infrastructure at sea level.
