Wagashi are Japanese traditional sweets, many different kinds including mochi. There is an old shop only a block away from the apartment, Kigetsudou, started in 1900. We bought some today, super fresh and delicious.
I don't know the names of most of these! We will definitely go again soon to try more.

We didn't open this one yet. Little jelly balls, with dark sugar syrup and kinako powder |
How does the mochi compare to the mochi in Hawaii? I may need to run to the Korean market for a quick fix!
